Delusions/false beliefs/paranoia are part of the psychosis that can occur in the ultimate form of mania. It has only happened twice to me thank goodness. And I ended up in hospital both times. I am labeled bipolar 1 for this reason.... I run more manic than depressed, bipolar 2.
this was my experience.
