My son loved Snuffy. He had a little terrycloth blue elephant, he went to bed with that he called Snuffy. (after the Snuffleupagus character).
Sometimes late at night we could here him babbling/talking to Snuffy! (we left a night lite on with some safe things in the crib so he wouldn't wake us up for company....it worked quite well).
Snuffy's trunk got really worn and sad looking eventually!
