I am a neuro ICU nurse in a major medical center, but have never heard of this disorder before (more a head bleed/stroke/brain surgery unit). I'm devastated and a little underwhelmed by the treatment options for this-I swear they are throwing darts at a dart board. If ONE more doctor points out that I am anxious and tearful, I will snap (being a nurse, I have no fear and limited reverence for certain doctors). Uh, yeah, maybe the steroids, the fact that my entire life is in upheaval, and the fact that I have pain of a character that I have difficulty even describing could do that to ANY personality type! I'd be crazy if this didn't have some impact, yes? Just needed to put myself out there and see if there are others like me.
