Nine months ago, I had smooth lower inner gums. They went from smooth to rough and grooved. I also noticed large deposits of scale on my teeth.
Yesterday I had my teeth cleaned. Much to delight and surprise my gums are smooth again. The dental hygienist explained that saliva is full of minerals that collect on the teeth. I believe this must be exaggerated by ALS.
