Weird email
Okay I've seen the scams and spams, but this is a new one on me.
I got an email from a person who claims to be from Russia, living with his disabled mother. He says he's lost his job and they are living on a government benefit (like our SSDI) which is not even enough for food.
Claims to be using a pc at a library, stumbles upon some email addresses and is reaching out for help. Asks me if I can to please send canned or dried food, etc.
Not mention of money.
Appologizes for not having a camera to send a pic of himself and mother.
Just says it's gonna be a tough cold winter and they could use some help.
Gives an address (yes, in Russia).
Hard not to wonder if this is just another BS email. But then, what if it's not?
So I checked it with Snopes, and sure enough, he's been scamming for years.
Beware the Valentin Mikhayla email. I'm going to start an email about this and send it around.
