is an antihistamine ....its real generic name is diphenhydramine hydrochloride or something close to it. I used it a lot in my working days, and it was a good sub for sinemet. I discovered it accidently because I had allergies. It's also used as a sleep aide. If you read the label on some OTC drugs for sleep, you'll see the same old stuff in the contents. I buy the generic house brand from one of the drug stores and get 60 50 mg caplets for approx $8. Pretty cheap meds. But my body adapts quickly and after a few days the affect is lost. I remember Vicki on the old forum saying her brother was a paramedic and thats what they gave Parkies in emergency situations. Interesting. My Neuro doesn't seem to know much about it.
