I am feeling much much better after hearing how well Jackie did yesterday in school. That and I talked with his teacher about the communication book we're working on, she said that they would gladly laminate some pages for me to help that goal come to fruition faster. We had a really awesome session with the new aid and the behavior analysist too. We got a stop sign now and I made two copies so one can go on the back of my chair and I can hold one to hold up to him and say "Stop! S-T-O-P!" which we hope can stop him from charging me.

That is until we get a picture card set up for his communication book with him asking to play chase. THe Behaviorist thinks that is what was behind it because I told her it wasn't like he was mad, he was laughing and playing when it happened. My neck is still kind of irritated but other then that things are going well. I am just happy that the school will help us get these pages I printed up yesterday (Mother bought me a all-in-one printer for an early birthday present) laminated so we can cut out the cards and start using his new schedule set up.

Just to show you an example:

You can see one there I am really excited about, the very last one on the right, about wiping bottom. I think we're going to get this boy to be independent before too much longer. He wants to take care of himself so that is what we'll be playing off of, and banking on. That his desire to grow up and be like Daddy will help him to get over the laziness he has about wiping his butt butt...LOL! I definitely don't feel so down now, and think that we'll be able to get through this next holiday break all right as long as the new aid and I keep working together to help Jackie learn what we're expecting of him.

And it's not really that much, just that he stops when the sign is used, that he starts asking to engage in play rather then just throwing himself at us. Small things like that which can make all the difference in the quality of our home life.
