Ok...here I go.
I've been bothered with this for a looooooong time. So bad that I actually had to have one removed. Talk about pain! K. So after about 6 months or so it just came back.
If you may remember I just had a colonoscopy and also the scope down the throat because of my stomach problems, etc. I have many internal roids as well. And I was diagnosed with atrophic gastris.
I've been told not to truly worry about the roids. I do take metamucil everyday. But I'm very vain, and asked can this one external huge one be removed as well? I was told by Gastro doctor and the surgeon, please let's not go this route again. I have suffered this way since my baby was born. Hello, my baby is now 26!
So, you are not alone. The best shot is of course, limiting the pain meds, do not under any circumstances "strain" to make a bowel movement, and metamucil, lots of fiber.
I've been put on meds not for the roids but for my general condition of gastro...Zelnorm and I'm pretty fluid and loose now if ya know what I mean.
Also, as a side note: I don't take any pain meds anymore, and haven't for many years, unless something else comes up other than RSD pain that requires pain meds. Then I put myself on D.S.S. which is Docusate Sodium, USP Stool Softener. 250mg. I take one a day and it works great for me.
My roid story. lol.
