Thumbs up My TOS Christmas list, what is on yours?

Over the miles traveled with this family affected misery I have found some things that actully have helped in some types of TOS or TOS symptoms.

I wanted to share a few I would want under my tree if Santa had the funds.

One at the top is a Homedics massage cushion. It is a larger height with enough kneading action to reach the areas from lowest lumbar to the higher shoulder area hitting the exact spots, with almost better then human proffecany....I sat on one in Boscov's the other night and actually had this HUGE Smile and tears running down from the shear relief I had! I won't mention what my husbands comments were

Homedics Quad Roller Massaging Cushion """NOT""" the 400-H Item # 764, the newer one for $199.00 only!
Price: $189.99
Now! $159.99

It was just in and a $299. for $199. The 400-H did not reach high enough to be worth the purchase! There is free shipping online orders over $50.

Plus 10% off an order of $100

http://www.homedics.com/products/mas...ssage-cushions
It has to be this one ONLY!

Then there is the One Touch JAR opener. I have the one touch can opener, battery operated and love it! I have not tried the JAR opener yet, but compared to the Black and Decker price, if I buy locally at Sears and do not feel it works out I can return it. I did see that on www.asseenontvguys.com that it is on sale for $14.99

They also have a one touch batter knife on this site.

Another item is a TENS Unit I own ReliaMed GM320T SD Digital Tens Unit
http://www.activeforever.com/p-1086-...tens-unit.aspx
For $74.99

http://www.activeforever.com/search....similar:A12273

This is not a traditional TENS that feels like Bee stings. BUT if you have Allodynia and have hyper nerve activity, this is not for you. IT has modulations that are wave like, not that tat tat of stings. Also the cover prevents bumps of accidental turning up of the unit OUCH.
Now, I did end up paying $150 as the insurance would not cover, so I do not know if it was a rehab supply store mark up.

About TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) therapy:
It is a set of electrodes which are placed on the skin on your back and it emits an electrical signal which stimulate your neurons through the skin. (Thus the name.) The sensation is more like the tingling and numbness of your jaw after dental work than like pain.

The year's past purchase that has been the best investment I have had to reduce pain and tears. My Hot tub. I have a smaller one maybe 300 gal. I have it in the garage as I can not tolerate to have it out in the weather like a Healthy body would like. Also the added cost of heating it in the Northeast would be crazy to pay.

The deep penatrating to the muscles and bones is great. I tolerate the higest blast fine, but sitting with the slower speed is great too. The one I have has a hydro therapy setting, but I like using the jets to hit the trigger point knots.
I never used the bath mat types but my dil had one we bought when she was pregnant and loved it. THe bubbles and I am not sure if the thing had a heat cycle, but I know it was along mat in the bottom of the tub and up the back.
Conair Thermal Spa Full-Body Massaging Bath Mat
+

Walmart for $99.
I think this is a huge unit for us to deal with and need help or a SPOT to hang and pull down to use.

There is another device, Conair Body Benefits Powerful Dual Jet Bath Spa
$38.74 . I never tried, but I am thinking about having for the summer when I do not run the hot tub. If anyone can review information on this item GREAT. The price is not much so I don;t expect too much in the relief area as the hot tub jets.
It does state:Turn your bathtub into your own private spa! The Body Benefits Deluxe Hydro Bath Spa is the perfect way to soothe your tired and aching muscles at home.

On/off button
Powerful, multidirectional, dual water jet action
Adjustable dual water-jet nozzles
16-foot adapter cord
Removable filter for easy cleaning
Mood light with intensity adjustment
50% more power than the leading water jet bath spa

Many years ago I purchased a hand wax dip. BUT you have to turn it down beofre putting in the hands of TOSers. Just a bit so you do not feel overwhelemed from the ehat. . You dip the hands in and put them in bags provided. Then peel off the wax after it cools.

In the winter this is great when I feel like I can't get my hands working.
I found this one with Shea Butter parrifin for $50.

http://www.hammacher.com/publish/749...E&cm_ite=74976
This device uses warm shea butter paraffin to moisturize and revitalize dry, chapped, or cracked hands and elbows. A natural moisturizer, shea butter has high levels of vitamins A and E and has been used in Africa for over two hundred years to protect skin from the intense heat, sun, and wind. Simply fill the basin with shea butter paraffin, turn the device on and, once the wax melts, immerse your hand in the warm, soothing wax several times. After a few minutes, the wax hardens and, as it is peeled from the skin it exfoliates, resulting in deeply moisturized, smooth hands and elbows. The heated wax reaches a soothing 130° F, relieving sore muscles and joints. Includes 3 lbs. of lavender-scented shea butter wax and cuticle cream

I have this Remote for my TV, mainly the brainfog and smallness of the others I miss place or loose them. They can be found for under $9.99\

Also, in houseware sections there are tons of wide rubberized grip handles for all the peeling, cutting needs.

The stocking stuffer priced items:
K-Mart in the bath soap section has Lavendar Epson Salts GREAT scent and relief. There is a less costly huge bag also of regular epsom salts.

Biofreeze, or Lavendar Cryogel. I live on this stuff and buy off E-bay. I don't spend more then $6.50 and shipping on it. I will look up the sellers name that has been proved reliable.

I use the Roll on, easier to apply and feels great to dig in and rub.

Now for all the shopping needs, I use a cloth cart bag buddy...I can put all the bags in. On trips, it totes the small cooler, jackets, I could not find the one I have, but this site has a nicer one I am going to buy:
It is 8 lb, and there is another site that has free shipping from the lady that developed it...I will look for that site.

http://www.elderstore.com/bag-buddy-...ping-cart.aspx

The BagBuddyCart is a folding cart that's fashionable enough to take to the mall, outlet stores, farmer's market or anywhere you need help carrying items.

This cart's narrow design was created for easier navigation through narrow store aisles or even the aisles on busses or trains. A lot of folding shopping carts are not "aisle friendly;" you'll be pleased with the expanded abilities to navigate where you need to go.

And the aisles are even more accessible with the BagBuddyCart because it has front swivel wheels!

The BagBuddyCart also has rear wheel brakes to keep it from rolling. You won't have to keep a hold of it even if you're on an incline.

The mesh bag on this cart is different from most all carts on the market. It makes it more "store shopping" friendly as the store security guards can see what you have in your cart and won't be rushing over to check your cart before you leave their store. This is a perfect cart to be used for laundry; you will be able to lift the mesh bag with your laundry without having to stoop over to pull something out of the cart - a back saver!

This is a lightweight cart that will hold up to a 50 lb load.

The Buddy features:

attractive, fashionable design
lightweight, easy to maneuver
adjustable height handles
collapses like an umbrella stroller
rear wheel brakes
adjustable cup holder is included
mesh bag design with large pockets for storagei>
black and gray matching colors
front swivel wheels
narrow design for shopping aisles
ideal for carrying re-usable shopping bags
ergonomically designed (comfortable to hold) handles
fits in trunk, or back seat of your car
stores easily in your closet>
50 lb load capacity
SpeSpecifications:

Adjustable height handle - (39 - 40 inches)
cart is 18 inches wide
24 inches deep
4.5 inch wheel diameter
Mesh/nylon bag is 29" high (in front), 24" high (in rear)
Bag is 12 wide and 17 inches deep
8.5" x 11" pocket with hook and loop closures
the cart weighs 8 pounds
There is some assembly required. Easy to understand instructions are included with each cart.

Please note: This cart is not suitable, nor was it intended, to be used as an alternative to a walker. Heavy pressure on the handles could cause the cart to "go out from underneath." This is not a cart suitable for an elderly or infirm person who needs assistance walking or for balance.
