I was recently going through a small town and was going too fast. I didn't realize I was, which is what I told the nice man in blue. I apologized because I didn't see the speed limit had slowed because I was coming to a red light and looking for my turn off before the light.
He checked, and told me that because my driving record was excellent and he understood that I was not in familiar surroundings he was giving me a warning. That if I got stopped again, a ticket would be issued without hesitation. I was expecting a ticket and not a warning.
I either went to school or taught most of the local law enforcement here...would they give me a ticket if they stopped me for speeding? YEP...and I would expect them to do so.
