Thank you!!!! Okay...to answer some of your questions:

Quote:
jo55 Lisa how long have these newest ones been around?
My hubby had 1for about a week or so??
{it was yrs ago so not totally sure}
He used prep H and soft diet til it faded.
but we never figured out why it appeared either...
Lots of water too - I'm sure that should help.
These newest ones have been around WAY too long. The first ones were gone within just a few days of using the preparation H. This time, I've been using that stuff about 3 weeks...and they are STILL HERE. Not only that, but they are multiplying! The Prep H is not only supposed to shrink the current ones, but protect the other tissue. Obviously it didn't do its' job properly!

I know why they STARTED. I always thought you got the roids by STRAINING when "going" but I read that diarrhea can also cause them. At that time, my pain doc had instructed me to take magnesium (1000 mg's) for restless legs and muscle spasms in my hands. Howevre, he failed to tell me to "ramp up." So, I started all at once. That made me so "loose" that I was (YUCK ALERT!!!) actually going when I didn't even KNOW I was going...like in the middle of the night (sheet changes and showers at 3 a.m. type of "going"). I only realized WHY this was happening when someone HERE told me that an overdose of magnesium can cause diarreah.

As for water...I drink TONS. In fact, that's all I drink, besides a glass of milk with meals. So....I'm really doing all the things I'm SUPPOSED to do...yet it's not helping.

himomdp I do take metamucil everyday. But I'm very vain, and asked can this one external huge one be removed as well? I was told by Gastro doctor and the surgeon, please let's not go this route again. I have suffered this way since my baby was born. Hello, my baby is now 26!....
First...thank you for responding with your story

Second....why in the world did they say "lets not go this route again" and why did they say "please?" or was it YOU who said please? Did it really hurt when they removed them? I thought it was painless? What method did they use (I've been reading, can ya tell? LOL!). I can't imagine them saying not to worry about them for 26 years. I mean, I looked this morning, and there are now 4, and heck, no room for anyting to "come out" if you kwim! LOL!

Now...I drink plenty of watr, I don't get "bound up" cuz I take softeners as well as magnesium so I don't have to strain. yes, I take pain meds...I HAVE TO, there is no way I could functio w/o them. But I d NOT strain at all. I'm nice and smooshy and everything comes out just fine but these things are just not going away AT ALL.

Is there like any kind of prescription brand stuff they can give that may work???

The best shot is of course, limiting the pain meds, do not under any circumstances "strain" to make a bowel movement, and metamucil, lots of fiber.....and I'm pretty fluid and loose now if ya know what I mean.
