Im due in the next couple of weeks to have my VP (VentriculoPeritoneal) shunt converted to a VA (VentriculoAtrial) shunt as my peritoneum dont work as well as before due to multiple surgeries therefore it doesnt absorb the CSF as well as it should.
I am wondering what to expect in surgery.
Whether my stomach will be cut again in order to take the tube out of the peritoneum or whether the tube will be pulled from the incision that will be made in my neck?? (As this is where they will be reinserting the catheter to go into the jugular vein and into my heart.)
Any ideas will be great.
Thank you
