Good Morning! Well we got about 8 inches of the white stuff. Roads and streets are still horrible around here. I have not seen a snowplow yet on my street. I really hope they come to do my driveway and walk before the visiting nurse comes this afternoon. Everything is canceled around here except for classes at my university. So I canceled my own classes and sent emails to the students. I hate using sick days for this, but I was not going to take a chance on getting caugt out in the snow in my car or falling down. The temperature is 15 degrees, and people are getting stuck in their cars everywhere. The snow drift in front of my porch is about a foot and a half. It took my secretary one hour to get to school; usually only takes 15 minutes. Plus they are just starting to plow the parking lots at school.
Frank, I am scheduled for my first injection today. Good luck with your meeting!
Governors can be removed from office for wrongdoings in the the office. This usually means crimes that you can be prosecuted for in the courts, but can also include ethical issues. It depends on the state constitution. The prosecutor that they are referring to is a member of the House -- not a federal prosecutor. The house votes to bring charges; the Senate tries the case.
Criminal charges are separate from the impeachment proceedings. From what I understand the FBI is not releasing all of their information to the Senate because they are taking it or will be taking it to a grand jury to file criminal charges against him. They are not going to give away their case against Rod until they can bring formal charges against him. Then during a criminal trial all of the evidence that the judge allows as permissible will be brought forth. He has been under investigation for two years and they did have to have evidence to get permission to wiretap him. It is well known that Rod has been using "pay to play" politics in his campaigns and appointments, etc for several years. Of course, he is not the only one in our fair state that is guilty of this.
Kay, I love seeing transcripts like that.
I hope everyone is having a good day. I am going to use part of my sick day to do some cleaning and laundry.
