There is nothing more beautiful than seeing big fluffy white flakes falling down and the ground is already totally white. I used to love going outside and making snow men with the kids. Or sledding down the hillside and watching your kids walk back up the hill with huge smiles on their face.
It also means staying at home and being cozy and comfortable, reading a good book or doing something special all the while gazing out the window at the snow.
Sure driving in the snow is treacherous, but once you learn the tricks and techniques it is more about watching the other driver and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. I am spoiled too because I have a good vehicle for the winter and a comfortable house with heat. I know if that was not the case I would not be as delighted with winter. For the homeless it is horrible.
This winter was the first winter I was sceptical about snow. We had so much people couldn't get out of their drive ways and go to work. City Hall, schools, shopping centers, businesses were all closed. The hillside roads were shut down except for vehicles with 4 wheel drive. Buses didn't run and roofs were collapsing everywhere. It was pretty scarey. I hope this was a one time event because I don't ever want to dread the first snow fall again. It is too special.
