As far as numbness, the only people i remember having reductions in numbness were those who had pn either caused by diabetes or pre diabetes who got their sugar levels under control and took vitamins in the b group as well as either r or alpha lipoic acid and those whose numbness was caused by impingement and who had the entrapped nerve released. And in all of the cases that i remember reading about, it was relatively early in the progress of the nerve damage. I have deep numbness in my feet, up into my calves and now in my hands, take the b vitamins, b1, b12, multi, fish oil, r lipoic acid, coq10, multi, etc. and there has been no decrease in my numbness, conversely it has only gotten worse. In my opinion that is why it is so important to try to find a cause early, in case that cause can be treated before damage becomes too widespread. I often read of people saying what difference does it make the treatments are all the same anyway. Well that sometimes isnt the case and catching some causes early will make a definite difference in the progression of PN. After having it for 7 years now, i think what really caused it becomes less of an urgent concern, especially after having undergone years of testing.
