Hi guys! My turn! Here goes some random stuff about me - in no particular order of importance.
1. Trained for years as a singer and sang back-up vocals on a cd.
2. Performed in loads of amateur musical theatre productions and was reviewed as having the most poignant moment in one of the shows.
3. Lived outdoors in a tree shelter for an entire summer at a scout camp. My camp name was Kanya.
4. I'm a volunteer Guide leader for a pack of nearly 40 girls.
5. Was a guide myself in my youth. Was awarded the Canada Cord and went to an international camp in 1993.
6. I am a primary school teacher working in a highschool. Love kids and ultimately dream that I will make a positive, memorable impact on one of my students.
7. Love to read, anything at all - cheesy romance to the classics. When I was eight I once slept surrounded by my entire Nancy Drew collection. Read Anna Karenina at 12.
8. Have visited 9 of the 10 places I wanted to see in my life (still need to visit Egypt and am currently starting a new list... suggestions anyone?)
9. Saw "Vanilla Ice" in concert as a child.
10. I’m trying to carry on my mother’s tradition of making personalised gingerbread cookies for all the neighbourhood children at Christmas.
11. Co-hosted a radio-show for 8 years specialising in Canadian music.
12. I'm a rubbish cook, but decent baker.
13. I met my husband at church.
14. Went to World Youth Day 2000 and saw Pope John Paul II.
15. I have no Ukrainian heritage but make Ukrainian Easter eggs every year.
16. My mom is my best friend and I talk to her everyday even though we live in different countries.
17. Cry at MOST movies (yes, even Godzilla 2000).
18. Ohhh embarrassing one.... I still sleep with my sleepy blanket I’ve had since birth (my husband understands – thankfully)
19. Love sitting outside with a cup of tea
20. Have aspirations to be a writer someday – the story is there, just waiting to come out.
21. Love Gerber daisies – but keep killing the poor things!
22. Make my own cards – this year made 80 Christmas cards – record is 110. Also made all of our wedding invitations and associated stationery.
23. Worked at GAP for just under 10 years – they even sent me to Las Vegas for a conference in 2000; all the way from N.S. Canada.
24. Demi Moore has the same size hands as me (small – I tried it out at Planet Hollywood once).
25. I live in the modern equivalent of a storybook village – butcher, baker, town square... think beginning of Beauty and the Beast.
26. (sorry cheating a bit) I miss my old "normal-self" but have learned a lot from my MG.
