Before rumors and innuendo take over......
no members were recently banned here!!
all members are asked to abide by Neurotalk guidelines
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=1293
if members violate the guidelines they are notified by mods and asked to please not do so. Mods do not "take sides" nor do they act unilaterally. All mod actions are discussed on the admin forum so that we work as a team, all accountable to one another
if the guidelines still continue to be violated the member may be given a probation, which means their messages do not immediately show on the board, but must first be checked by a moderator and then approved. During probation only PMs to mods and admin go through. Others are blocked.
The hope is that this "cooling off" period will help stabilize the situation so that the probation can then be lifted. The member is *clearly notified* when on probation, and what it means. It is a way to try to resolve the problem without having to suspend the member.
If a member *requests* their account here to be closed, we do that for them and that is their choice, not us removing them. that is not a banning. that is the member deciding they no longer wish to be a member here. One of the members here requested that and that is why they no longer show on the members list and their contact info etc is not on their posts anymore. we did *not* ban the member
In addition, myself and the mods do *not* have access to your PMs.
However *if* any member feels they have received PMs that violate our guidelines of mutual respect and support, they can *forward* the PMs to us
and we then can check on whether this needs followup.
->edit in:that means we check into *the* PM(s) forwarded to us, not check into your PM box...again we do not have access to your PMs!
Please do not spread the untrue rumor that we read member PMs here.
I hope this sets the record straight that no one has been banned here and that members sometimes ask for their membership to be terminated, which is their right to do.
Also I hope all members will respect that the mods and admin do not take sides between members. The only side we take is what is stated in the NeuroTalk guidelines and we apply that fairly and equally to all members, including ourselves
any further questions on this matter, I would greatly appreciate if you would PM me for further information. this is not to be "secretive" but to allow the board to return tobeing what it is meant to be..a place where members can exchange support and information in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Having disputes aired on the forums only upsets many, and no one needs that with all they already have to suffer.
thanks and I hope this will reassure all of you
