My encounter with President Obama
Ok, this was fun.
Yesterday (Wednesday) I had to go to downtown Phx for a meeting. My meeting was at 9 and I left my house at 8. I had to take the 51 freeway down to my meeting and I knew that Obama's motorcade was going down that highway to get from his resort to his town hall in Mesa. I noticed the traffic was heavy and there were cop's (highway patrol) every 100 feet or so, I have never seen so many cops in one place at one time.
So, I was about 1/2 way there when BAM, blowout in my right rear tire of my car. I pulled over to the shoulder. I got out of my car and a trooper pulled up behind me (within seconds, he was only about 1/4 mile behind me and probably saw the blow out). He said "Problem?" DUH. I showed him my tire and he said "come with me".
He made me sit in the back of his patrol vehicle and told me I could NOT take any cell phone pic's of the motorcade. about 10 min. later the motorcade with all it's glory drove by. I was less than 40 feet from the leader of the free world. WOW, such a photo op but NO, I couldn't take a shot. After he was gone the cop actually helped me change my tire.
Darn it all. it was impressive, I've never seen such an event.
