Default duodopa trial design

I read on another forum that the duodopa trial is set to last a year, during which the participants will have to titrate off their oral meds to take them through the gut, then titrate back onto them at the end of the year, when the tube will be removed. The poster said she specifically asked if at the end of the year, would her husband be allowed to continue receiving meds via the tube and was told no. Needless to say, they are not willing to participate in the trial for that reason.

If true, who is going to be willing to participate in this trial? Is it too late for the trial design to be changed? This is deja vu GDNF for many reasons.

I hope this information is not correct, anyone know?
