He says I don't have full blown RSD. I have all the stuff that happens just before RSD sets in. I forget exactly what it is but its something to do with sympathetic nerves being all screwed up. For the next 6 weeks I have to get a nerve block and an hour later go thru intense PT. He is a little werry though because its been almost a year since my injury, so he isn't fully sure its going to work. But because I've been doing everything I'm supposed to be doing at home, he still has hope that it will work. I am so hoping that this works. Oh he also prescribed me Lyrica to help calm my nerves. I'm just so happy that finally I have a doctor that listened to me. He also looked really confused from the doctor who referred me to a PM (the hand specialist). The hand specialist put that there is no sign of deformities. The PM kept looking at the hand specialists notes and looking at my wrist. You could see that he was confused by that because there is clear deterioration and slight deformity. Anyway, I don't know if it was the trip or the new meds but I need a nap I'm wiped.
It is AWESOME that you finally got in to see a doctor that genuinely cares and is willing to take the time to listen to you. I hope and pray that everything works out and that these blocks give you some relief!! Please keep us posted on how you do!! I think we can all relate to being exhausted after a big doctors appointment. Enjoy your nap!!! Take care!!!
