I'm not sure if an IED (improvised explosive device) can lead to an aneurysm, but I have seen studies which showed that they can exascerbate an already-existing aneurysm. The pressure and vibration can cause a tear or a rupture. But if that had happened, then the sypmtoms would have shown up pretty quickly. Good luck and best wishes to you and your husband, SS!
