Default Get a diagnosis

2blue,
You definitely need a much better diagnosis than a psychologist. You sound like you need some vestibular testing (balance etc.)

I would not accept a psychologist's simple diagnosis about a head injury. They often try to put too much causation on emotional issues. It takes complex testing to get a true picture of your neuro-psychological condition, much more than a common psychologist can perform.

Check with your state brain injury association or other such organization. There is probably someone who has TBI PCS skills. I would look under Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the phone directory. Then call and ask if they have a doctor who is good with head injuries. Neurologists tend to not recognize problems they cannot see on an X-ray, CT or MRI image or EEG tracing.

As mentioned earlier, It will help to know some specifics about the mechanism of injury. That is just a starting point.
