Funny how research into things like anti-aging and autism as well as overall health and function has had such far-reaching (positive) results for the masses. And that includes the masses with brain symptoms.

I saw the book by Hyman about functional medicine (see http://www.ultramind.com/epidemic.php ). I had never heard that term before. It was a bit like the "It's Not Mental" website (http://www.itsnotmental.com)-- talking about addressing underlying biological problems in the body and it impacting brain function as well.

Well, that should not be surprising. I read that over half the processes in the body are really for the brain.

You said you found it "exciting." Frankly, coming from a family with the hereditary issues I do, I find this whole venue quite exciting.

What Dr. Hyman wrote about is exactly what countless of individuals (including parents of children with autism, bipolar, ADHD, and schizophrenia) have been finding out on their own. As well as adults with these disorders and so much more going awry in the body. They found out the hard way, and without much guidance.
