Just wondering here...WHY are you made to wait for medicare? Years ago I worked for the welfare dept. and was under the impression that when you are declared disabled you automatically are covered? In fact back then (apprx. 13 years ago) that's the only way a adult in my state could have medical coverage, to be declared disabled.

So silly to me that someone who is disabled would not have immediate medical coverage?
