Default GDNF may cause "robust" weight loss

(If treatment of alcoholism wilth GDNF did not generate enough interest and $$$, perhaps treament of obesity with this neurotropic factor will. Though the potential for putting all those weight loss enterprises out of business does mitigate against this.)

"A growth factor used in clinical experiments to rescue dying brain cells in Parkinson patients may cause unwanted weight loss if delivered to specific areas of the brain, according to University of Florida researchers in the March online edition of Molecular Therapy."
