Hi Lisa,

I have full body RSD I worked for 5 years after being diagnosed. As others have stated it depends on you. Your health comes first listen to your body it will tell you when you when you need to slow down. Rethink how you use your time you may need to adjust how you do things off the clock so you have the energy to work. Check with HR and see what your benefits are for short and long term disability.

When I was working I would come home in a great deal of pain. I couldn't sleep at night it was so bad. I started seeing a pain management psychologist who taught me some relaxing techniques. If you don't have a psychologist ask your doctor for a referral. The relaxing techniques helped. He also helps with the paperwork for my long term disability. The most important thing is he understands RSD and all the emotional concerns I have when dealing with doctors who don't understand the condition.

Take care of yourself,
Sbowling
