Can you share what seems different?

Some generics dissolve faster than others. That is because they must meet or exceed requirements for dissolution at the FDA to get approval. But with Cardizem (Diltiazem) this is not typically an issue, because this drug is slower acting than say pain tablets etc.

I would wonder if you were given the wrong thing? Or the wrong dosage form? What is the generic you are receiving via mail order--the manufacturer name? I use this drug too and have had two different companies over the years with no problems.

I always photocopy the RX before I send it off, because I don't trust mail away's too much. I suggest you do that too, just as insurance.
