We had a Bruno stair lift, the kind with a seat. With his spasms and leg stiffness we had such a hard time getting him up and down even with a ceiling lift. His legs didn't even sit on the platform and would get caught. The seat was also too small and he barely held on. We had some scary times. It was definately a hazzard. We sold the stair lift to the company that put it in and donated it back to Ramp Up that helped us get the wheelchair lift.
