I was at work for a school's transportation depart. when my husband called and told me about the first plane. We got a t.v. and as the 200+ drivers came in we all stood and watched. I remember seeing the 2nd plane and saying "why is that plane so close", before I finished it had struck the 2nd building. I've never seen so many crying, scared, confused, sad, angry faces. I went and got my kids out of school and took them back to work with me. I had to have them close. As I got to the schools so many other parents were already doing the same thing. I remember going home and watching it on t.v. and just standing frozen in the middle of the room sobbing uncontrollably for all those people. I really thought we would have a nuclear war by days end.

I will never forget those first few moments, they are permanently embedded in my mind.
