Removal is your best defense, as others have mentioned here. Or substitution (water instead of soda, etc).

I eat a low fat no red meat diet. I DO have a cheat day, on average once every month, but even then I regret that 1 cheat day, because once you get yourself into healthier eating, you'll find going back to the old way that your body doesn't like it very much

On the thought of drinks... how about herbal tea? I LOVE the Tetley Vanilla and Peppermint. Mmm. And it's tastier than water! That's if you can tolerate warm drinks of course
