This much I know, Personally.
When all I had was RSD/TOS,
My attorney suggested I try scuba diving.
I had a thing for the FLA Keys,
and, off I went.

Got certified,
bought the equipment (which my wife took, even my childrens),
anyway,
I thought,
Hells bells,
there is NO WAY I'm not gonna be lying in bed,
with my meds for two days after this.

Guess what?
At only two atmosphere's and lots of "swimming",
carrying tanks etc., I felt like mighty man.

I could do that every day!

There's something about the depth / pressure,
permeating the Oxygen into your muscles, that is an Ultra Pain Reliever!

Wow, If I could just buy an Airstream trailer,
and live in the Fla Keys,
and go out every other day, to depth.
(especially 'round the Christ statue, etc.)
and breath my air...watch the beauty!

I don't know if I'd need any meds!
It's SO Beautiful too! Oh, I said that...

Anyway,
I've never been "tanked",
but,
I think it'd have the same effect, although in a more "black and white" effect.
Who cares?

I have a CPap unit, and, an O2 concentrator, that I use occasionally.
The problem is, with my sleep problems,
I can literally sleep 24 hours! with the O2 turned on!

So, I try to turn it low,
and get along like that.

It's a pleasure to meetcha, Mike!

Be Well!

Hi Pete,

It is funny you mention scuba diving because that used to be my favorite thing to do in the world, but when my back got too bad to safely dive. i had to give it up.

I dove the florida keys also and loved it, but my favorite diving in florida was cave diving. For me there was something about changing tanks to breathe different mixtures along the dive to go deeper or much longer than recreational dives. of course the 4 to 6 hour deco stops are very boring but its part of the dive.

I havent dove since getting crps. but i do understand the pressures(ata's) of the water you are talking about. i always wondered if i dove again if it would help or not. with crps, they say to stay away from appying ice to the body. in alaska the water feels like ice more months than not. it might get to 50 degrees in summer. plus my failed back surgeries keep me from doing much. i spend 23 to 24 hours aday in bed except one day a month i see the pain doc for refills on meds andthen back to bed. not much of a life. so iwas excited to here recently that hbot has been working for some people.

thanks for the reply and looking forward to hearing more scuba stories....

Mike
