Akathisia is the term for the feeling of inner restlessness that is a potential side-effect for some people taking certain medications. I looked up the info. on Effexor to see if it mentioned numbness in any of the 'Adverse Reactions' section. It mentions Asthenia. That is more of a weakness or loss of strength.

You sound as if you've got much more than that happening from what you've written and hopefully as you get the Effexor out of your system, everything will settle down for you.
