Everyone has different types of pain associated with RSD and no two people are the same. The most common type of pain experienced in RSD is a constant burning pain.
When my RSD first started, I got a very sharp shooting pain around the ankle that would come and go. As time progressed though, the pain got worse and more constant and turned into a burning pain. I no hsve the burning pain 24/7 but also experience shooting pains several times a day.
If you aren't comfortable with your diagnosis, I would go and seek a second opinion. I know it can be stressful but its important that you are sure you are getting treated for the proper illness.
Take care and keep us posted!
