All big cities and many small ones have Catholic Charities available to the public. (anyone can participate) You can call your local Catholic Church for info on assistance with utility bills, food pantry's and clothing/household items. I have several disabled friends who swear by "St. Vincent dePaul", which is a charity who collects donations for the poor. Again, there's a SVdP in almost every city.
