This has been our favorite meatloaf recipe for years:
1-1/2 lbs. lean ground sirloin
1/2 C fresh breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 finely chopped Vidalia onion
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1/2 C water
3 tblsp. apple cider vinegar
3 tblsp. light brown sugar
2 tblsp. yellow mustard
3 tblsp. worcestershire sauce
Mix together the ground sirloin, bread crumbs, egg, onion, salt & pepper and 1 can of the tomato sauce.
Form into loaf and put into shallow pan.
Combine the remaining can of tomato sauce and the other remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour over meatloaf and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let sit 15 minutes before transferring to plate and cutting.
