Thanks, but my surgery has been put on hold. The insurance company has decided it is not "medically necessary." READ: they don't want to spend the $$. The docs and I are appealing the decision.
Someone from the peer review board called my neurosurgeon and told him that the board was denying the surgery request and that I should continue with the nerve block steroid injections. Evidently they haven't read the letter that the 5 nerve block injections thus far have done nothing to alleviate the pain and given me back the use of my arm. So, at $1200 a pop for these useless injections, how long will it take to equal the cost of the surgery?
I am in the process of preparing a cost:benefit analysis for them using medical data that goes back to 2001.
Anyway, the one-winged, unemployed flygirl has not given up!
Thanks everyone and good luck tomorrow Jim!
And thanks for all the information Risby! And how's life without the hard collar???
