Maureen:

One thing that may help your mother's brain
right away is LARGE dosages of Methylcobalamine.
See the website: www.lef.org
for a good source. That's where we get
it. It is the new form of B12. Get the
5 MILLIGRAM tablets. I break them into
2 pieces and take them throughout the day.
With bad problems, like Parkinson's, she could
take quite large doses in the first month
(like maybe around 50MG/Day), then taper
down to 5 to 10 MG/day for maintenance
and protection. These are sublinqual
(take under the tongue) and pleasant to
take. I would also take the standard
sublingual B12--Twinlab has them. The
Cyanocobalamin form of B12 is what I mean.
Get their largest tablets. That way, you
are getting both forms of B12. Don't
have to worry about covering all the bases.

I read once that about half the people
in nursing homes that were said to have
Alzheimer's really had a B12 deficiency.
This is particularly DANGEROUS FOR THE BRAIN!

You might want to check out the following
links for alternative methods:

Annetta Freeman:
www.ceri.com/parkpage.htm
www.ceri.com/annett3.htm
www.ceri.com/annett4.htm

I found these links as a result of searching for the
fairly new Glutathione IV treatment for Parkinson's.
It is nontoxic and very safe.

However, there is more than just glutathione IVs.
There are other supplements and most people will need
to greatly improve their diet to lower their intake
of toxic compounds as well as reducing their free
radical intake. Standard MDs won't tell you any of this.

Dr. Perlmutter MD is on the cutting edge of this
treatment and has the following website:

www.perlhealth.com
Perlmutter Health Center
They now allow telephone consultations worldwide.

Perlmutter's holistic approach is based chiefly on the need to increase detoxification, and thus enhance glutathione levels. The most dramatic part of Perlmutter's presentation consisted of slides showing a profound improvement in Parkinson's symptoms after intravenous glutathione. Within less than an hour of the injection, Parkinson's patients experienced an almost complete restoration of the ability to walk, turn around and move their arms. Perlmutter calls this “the glutathione miracle.” He uses 1200 mg of injectable glutathione at first, then lowers the dose to 600 mg per injection. The injections are given two days apart. The effectiveness of the treatment has been validated in a controlled study. Many holistic physicians already use intravenous glutathione as part of their treatment for Parkinson's disease.

Also start eliminating all chemicals in
her household. Only products that
those with multiple chemical sensitivities
can use should be used. ABSOLUTELY
NO MORE EXPOSURE TO PESTICIDES and other
sprays! No MSG. NO sugar substitutes
such as aspartame and all its other names.
LOTS to know about. She needs to greatly
increase her FRESH RAW ORGANIC PRODUCE,
especially GREENS, ONIONS, GARLIC, CARROTS,
Etc. RAW. Both whole and juices. If she can't
chew vegetables, get a Champion juicer
and make baby food. Do NOT STEAM,
that kills enzymes, many vitamins, etc.
You want nutrition that isn't destroyed
by heat. There's lots of RAW FOOD
INFO on the internet. You can start
with
www.rawfoods.com'
www.rawfood.com
www.drday.com
www.gerson.org (their cancer diet book is what
you want.)

This will get you started. The Glutathione
IV works with Parkinson's. I have a friend
whose wife is trying it NOW and she has had
great results. Yes, she has Parkinson's.
They are THRILLED so far!

GET OFF ALL THE DRUGS as they are TOXIC
to the brain. Your MD will NOT agree,
but then your MD can't cure anybody with
Parkinson's either, right? A Naturopath will
tell you all those drugs they use for
Parkinson's and anti-psychotic, etc. in
the nursing homes are TOXIC to brain
cells and will harm you. It takes some
time, but you just have to wean the patient
off them over time.

Sinemet will slowly DESTROY any remaining
specialized dopamine-producing brain cells.
That's WHY it quits working after a few
years!! So Sinemet is ONLY a short-term
FIX. It does NOT work. This isn't my
opinion, but the opinion of others, like
Annetta Freeman, who has looked up the details.

Your best hope is to treat your loved one
at home and hopefully with family help,
you can do the necessary things to bring
Parkinson's into remission. YOU are
going to have to do it--I guarantee that
your current doctors have NO hope for you
because they are trying to everything with
TOXIC DRUGS.
