Hi, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with PCS. I would urge you to try the elavil. I am still taking it after my accident in May '07. It took about two weeks to work for me when I first started it in Dec. 07. I did get nauseous and was drousy in the beginning, but it did not made my headaches any worse and after about 2 1/2 weeks I finally started to feel better. Also, I did not gain any weight - I guess I am one of the lucky ones who does not feel like eating on this med. I feel like it was a lifesaver for me - thought I was losing my mind getting up with headaches ever morning. I still have some mild issues with my head, but overall life is good!
With a lot of patience you will get better too - it takes time to heal.
P.S. What dosage are you on? I started on 10 mg and went up to 20 after about three weeks. Now I am taking 10 mg again for Shingles pain.
