I think healing pains depend on the type of healing.
When one has numbness extensively, then when healing happens, there may be tingling/burning for a while. This happened to me with my thyroid fix.
But not all PN is numbness. It is possible for some who just have PAIN, that healing would reduce some of that. It may turn into another perceptive feeling, a lower type like tingling or itching for a while.
I think it can be a variable experience... no one rule for all.
