my mother has them, and says she has had them for 40 years. she doesnt have MS.
They can be hereditary. I never had one till after starting Copaxone. The MD said it could have happened with or without the copaxone. 99% of the time, it is not painful. it is irritating. It used to scare me, now I know what it is, and just lay down for a few minutes. Advil/tylenol helps, but rest helps more.
Its good to have your eyes looked at to be sure your vessels are in good shape, your lense is in good shape, and your cornea is ok. once you get the all clear, it puts your own mind at ease.
