and yes... bravo to the potato! I do that myself when I get a "bug".
White rice is also easy on the tummy. Some people have problems with milk, or cheese. Hard to say for you. I'd stay away from garlic and broccoli, unless you do Beano. The only problem with potatoes and rice is that the glycemic index is high (converts rapidly to glucose) , but you may have to do it for a couple of days. Do you test blood sugars at home? You might want to follow them a bit more in that case.

Some yogurt daily helps too. I tried the new Activia (Dannon) in June when I had a
bug, and it really helps. I have it with lunch at work now. (not everyday, but
4-5 times a week). Yogurt has active cultures and helps to normalize
functions when you get spells like this.
You are lucky you don't have the BARFS.... that is really unpleasant! but typical... so you lucked out!
