Have you considered the dental school? I think UCONN has a pretty good dental school, and they do quality work for a lower fee because its students that do the work. Since they are up to date on the latest, greatest proceedures, perhaps they can help you fix the plate you have.

There are many here with much more knowledge than I as far as dental stuff, but I just wanted to throw you a hug It should not have been that much of an ordeal to get your teeth fixed.
