Hi George! I'm 6 weeks post-op 7-8mm, double lobe, unruptured aneurysm clipping via craniotomy. My surgery was done at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC (US), which is one of the best in the US!

I think most of my bills are in now and they totaled about $120,000.00 (before insurance). This includes the diagnostic MRI w & w/o contrast, CT Scan w & w/o contrast, angiogram, surgery, hospital (24 hour ICU + 6 days in a private room), meds, 2 ambulance transports and a helicopter ride (which itself was $24,000!)

I have heard from others who have been to Duke that they are willing to set up very reasonable payment plans (keeping my fingers crossed. The hospital staff (especially nurses) make you feel like they are put on this earth for you and you alone. They give the utmost care and attention, and are not understaffed.
