High school days were so much fun for my kids. They were popular, and always dragging home half the class with them for one reason or another. it was a tough adjustment to get used to quiet, and allow some of those tag alongs to drift off to their own worlds, and lives.
Both are mid 20s now, and both have graduated college and moved into lives of their own. sometimes I really miss those days, and other times I am so glad I survived them. it was alot like work.
Congratulations you have given the kid a good foundation. I too have a bit of an under achiever. it was in college that he started to figure out that it was up to HIM to get the work done. That it was HIS future, and HIS assignment. It was wonderful to see it start to click for him.
way to go !
