It is a long standing tradition in our town that the 8th grade trip is to DC. My son is leaving on Thursday morning and returning Friday late. They are going to Arlington Cemetary, the tomb of the unknown soldier and many other sites of interest. He just did a report on the Vietname Memorial, which they will be visiting. I think, especially at this age, it is important to invoke history and pride in our Country to these impressionable children. On my side of the family, every male has bean a part of a war or military service. On my husband's side, the same. My husband did not see a miltary conflict but served for quite a few years.

Just a reminder for our children to understand what sacrifices are made for us on a daily basis.

Thanks, Linda
