Exclamation Reglan

My PWP was being prepped for surgery when the nursing staff gave him 2 tablets to combat the after effects of the anesthesia. One of those pills was reglan. Luckily I was in the room and asked why she was giving him that. I asked her if she was aware that reglan was being blamed for tartive dyskenesia, there were lawsuits being filed, and it could have devestating results on a PWP. Obviously, she did not, and she thanked me for being so knowledeable about his medications.

This is just another example of why it is necessary to be proactive when dealing with medical staff. They can't and don't know everything, and our PWPs are the ones who will suffer because of what they may not know.
