I can understand someone wanting to get to their appointment, their home, their job and on with their days activities. But.......how often is your day interrupted by someone contemplating suicide? We've often talked (on the MS forum) about slowing down, either by choice or necessity, but I just feel like we've become a self-centered and selfish society if we look at someone threatening to kill themselves as an "inconvenience" to our day. Yeah, it's not something you factor into the time frame when planning your day.
The man who pushed him had issues of his own.....and those two individuals together were a disaster waiting to happen. I can see both sides.....and by the grace of God I've never been on either side.
I just think we could show a little more compassion towards our fellow man....whatever the situation is. The jumper was desperate and so was the pusher. I don't know what could have been done differently to help either of them....I wasn't there. I just hope and pray that they both get the attention they need.
