Well, my impression is this:

If you asked for Vicodin without the Tylenol...the answer is correct. There are NO stand alone hydrocodone products available. They can be compounded, but no insurance will cover it, and perhaps it would be hard to find a pharmacy to do it, and it would cost a bundle of money. It becomes CII if done by a compounding pharmacy.

All doctors know there are stand alone opiates, like morphine. So I don't think you were lied to. Only that your question was answered in a specific way.
