I LOOOOVE breakfast for dinner.
but, goodness, Mari,
IHOPs and Denny's are my favs. Well, Denny's was more of a convenient hangout for us nightowls... there always seemed to be one within driving distance. I don't care for Waffle House myself, either.
You might try Steak & Shake or Skeeter's. Both are 24 hour and both have moonlight menu type things. (I
think Skeeter's is a chain but not sure.) Steak & Shake used to have the
best Fried Biscuits (with maple syrup... or imitation, whatever).
There's another classic one but the name escapes me right now.
But i looooved IHOPS! Buckwheat pancakes... mmmm... blintzes, yummmm, and i love their coffee. Too bad the ones in my area quit being 24 hour... one time i even drove real far to get to a different one and found it closed.
i'll see if my friends remember what the name of the other place was - also a chain and 24-hour one. they made/sold their own pies too, like Denny's does. the one i went to for a while closed and was a really long time ago. i didn't care for the actual sitting area much anyway but that will vary from place to place. the food was ok. Skeeters was really good.
Oh, and ... does Dunkin Donuts still exist or what? they had really good coffee, although they use paper cups now.

i used to like it when they at least used real mugs. they had mega-mugs. they have like egg spinach croissant type things that i used to like... but not your full breakfast menu however. i used to go there when i wanted a safe place, coz all the cops used to hang out there, lol.
Heck now i'm wondering if steak & shake had eggs & stuff though. all i remember is those biscuits, which were like a snack dish. i'm not sure if they did breakfast stuff come to think of it. Skeeters definitely did tho.
