I had the thymectomy in February, 2009. I have three kids 8, 4, & 3 so I know all about your concerns. I had about two weeks to prepare for my surgery as well. I went through a whole range of emotions during those two weeks and finally ended up in a very good place when I was wheeled into the operating room. The surgery went very well and I am doing so much better now.
